good-bye indie.

Today is a sad day in radio and in local music.

My old stomping grounds, Indie 103.1 has shut down.
I can credit Indie with giving me some of my most fondest memories, and introducing me to some of the incredible people I know today.
Very, very sad.

Mark Sovel revived the LA music scene in the past 5 years he was the music director and host of "Check One..Two". He gave a platform to unknown local artists that otherwise wouldn't have been heard. Bands like Silversun Pickups, She Wants Revenge, The Airborne Toxic Event and Cold War Kids all got their start with Indie and Check One..Two.
I can only hope that Mark and Indie can continue to do what they have done all these years when they come back as an online stream.
